Married woman dies of poisoning in Jaipur: Used to torture for dowry, husband used to threaten to kill

A married woman died after consuming poison in Jaipur. Her in-laws used to torture her for dowry. The husband used to threaten to kill her. Kardhani police station handed over the dead body to the relatives after getting the postmortem done in the mortuary of Kavantia Hospital. The father of the deceased has registered a case of dowry death against her husband and in-laws.
SHO (Kardhani) Heeralal Saini told- Poonam (25), a resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, died after consuming poison. Poonam was married to Udram in December-2020. Sarna Dungar does a private job in Kardhani, staying with the Udamram family. On the night of 16th July at around 8 pm, Poonam consumed poison at home. When his health deteriorated, his relatives got him admitted to a private hospital. Seeing the serious condition, the doctors referred him to Kavantia Hospital. He died during treatment at Kavantia Hospital.
Ramesh Chandra, the father of the deceased Poonam, got a case registered against her husband and in-laws alleging dowry death. It is alleged that a month after the marriage, the in-laws started beating Poonam over the demand for a dowry. Due to torture for dowry, Poonam was kept in Pihar for about 4 months. After that husband Udram took her. After taking her to her in-law's house, she started torturing her again for dowry. The husband used to threaten to kill her. On the complaint of Poonam's father, the police registered an FIR and started an investigation.
