Jaipur's open jail will get a 300-bed satellite hospital, Supreme Court also approves
Rajasthan News: The Supreme Court has also accepted the proposal to build a satellite hospital in the open jail located in Sanganer, the capital Jaipur. In this regard, the Supreme Court has rejected a contempt petition and said that the state government's proposal to establish a hospital and modernize the open jail is feasible.

The Supreme Court has sanctioned the proposal for the construction of a satellite hospital on the open jail land in Jaipur's Sanganer. In this case, CJI BR Gavai along with Justice Augustine George Masih, was hearing a contempt case. In this, tampering with the proposed block plan of the open jail on a plot of 17800 square meters in Jaipur was alleged.
The Supreme Court has released the state government's Chief Secretary from contempt proceedings for this case and sanctioned the setting up of a satellite hospital in the open jail. Yet, the state government has been asked by the court to submit an affidavit on this issue.
According to the information, a 300-bed satellite hospital is to be built on 22 thousand square yards of land in Sanganer. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, while pleading on behalf of the state government, told the court that after the registrar's report, the state government will build a new jail infrastructure by including 14940 square meters of land along with the 17800 square meters allotted in the open jail. It was also told that the existing jail building will not be vacated until the new jail is built.
