Huawei launched the Pura 80 series in China, which includes Pura 80 Pro, Pro+, and Ultra models. The Ultra has a 1-inch 50MP camera and a switchable telephoto system. The Pro models have a 48MP macro telephoto camera. The price starts at 6499 yuan. All models run on HarmonyOS 5.1 and are available on VMall.

Huawei revealed the Pura 80 series in China on Wednesday. The Pura 80 series comes in Pura 80, Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro+, and Pura 80 Ultra models. The vanilla Pura 80 features a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. Meanwhile, Pro models boast a 1-inch 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 48-megapixel macro telephoto sensor. Meanwhile, the Pura 80 Ultra model features the same primary sensor as Pro and Pro+ and a new switching telephoto camera system with two lenses and dual optical focal lengths.
The price of Huawei Pura 80 Ultra has been set at 9,999 yuan (about Rs 1,18,900) for 16GB + 512GB and 10,999 yuan (about Rs 1,30,800) for 16GB + 1TB. At the same time, the price of Pura 80 Pro + has been fixed at 7,999 yuan (about Rs 95,100) for 16GB + 512GB and 8,999 yuan (about Rs 1,07,000) for 16GB + 1TB.
Similarly, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro is priced at 6,499 yuan (roughly Rs. 77,300) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB variants are priced at 6,999 yuan (roughly Rs. 83,200) and 7,999 yuan (roughly Rs. 95,100), respectively.
The Pro, Pro+, and Ultra models of the Pura 80 lineup are currently available for purchase in China via Huawei VMall. However, the company has not yet announced the price and availability details of the base Huawei Pura 80.
The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra features a 6.8-inch full-HD+ (1276x2878 pixels) LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 1,440Hz PWM dimming rate. The chipset details of the handset, or any of the handsets in the Pura 80 series, are yet to be revealed. The phone comes with HarmonyOS 5.1 and packs a 5,700mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
For photography, the main attraction of the Ultra variant is the switchable telephoto camera system. It uses two telephoto lenses with 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom and a moving prism to offer dual focal lengths from a single 50-megapixel sensor with sensor-shift OIS. The phone also features a 1-inch 50-megapixel main camera, a 40-megapixel ultrawide shooter, and a 1.5-megapixel Red Maple Spectral Camera. It also has a 13-megapixel camera sensor on the front.
The Huawei Pura 80 Pro and Pro models share the same screen, chipset, OS, battery, and charging features as the Ultra. The smartphone's photographic system would have also been identical had the Pro models featured a 48-megapixel macro telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom rather than a switchable telephoto lens configuration. The devices come with support for dual satellite communications, i.e., Beidou and Tiantong systems. The Ultra model also features these connectivity solutions.
The Pura 80 comes with a 6.6-inch screen and a 5,600mAh battery. The device supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone comes with the same operating system and front camera as the remainder of the models within the series. At the back, the handset sports a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter with 5.5x optical zoom, a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 1.5-megapixel Red Maple spectral sensor.
