Home Ministry issued an order approving the deputation of 24,000 personnel to the CAPF and the Assam Rifles

The Central Government has made significant progress in providing opportunities for advancement, hiring new staff, and guaranteeing high-calibre human resources for a range of internal security responsibilities. A reserve deputation of roughly 24,000 personnel has been approved by the government to supplement the current Assam Rifles and five Central Armed Police Forces.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order directing the deputation of 23,958 personnel in reserve from the CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, and Assam Rifles. These five Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), excluding the Assam Rifles, have been assigned to carry out a range of internal security responsibilities, including conducting elections, policing the border, fighting terrorism, and upholding law and order throughout the nation.

They are also the primary human resource of various specialized organizations like the Special Protection Group (ACG), National Security Guard (NSG), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and Intelligence Bureau (IB). These agencies work under the Ministry of Home Affairs and are responsible for the internal security of India. Retired BSF Inspector General Ajay Singh said this is the first time that the Home Ministry has approved the deputation of personnel to CAPFs and Assam Rifles. This will help ensure that officers and personnel of these forces can go on deputation and enhance their knowledge and skills in a systematic and institutionalized manner.

In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the Election Commission has instructed the Railway Board to guarantee the easy and hassle-free movement of trains carrying more than 3.4 lakh security personnel. These guidelines have been issued in light of security personnel's history of showing up late for work. The Commission instructed the Railways to establish a control room that is open 24/7 in a directive that was sent out last week.

In the upcoming months, this will track the movement of Central Armed Protection Force (CAPF) personnel throughout the nation and make arrangements for fans, air conditioning, food, and other necessities like medical care at the stations along the way. The Commission said that large-scale deployment of CAPFs and police forces called from various states will be necessary for elections.
