Rajasthan Gripped by Early Heatwave: Temperatures Cross 36°C Before February Ends
Rajasthan Weather Update: Even before February ends, the heat has begun to show its intensity. Temperatures are above normal in many cities, and the daytime sunshine is creating an April-like heatwave. Weather experts predict that temperatures may rise further in early March.
This year, Rajasthan is facing a severe heatwave. Even before February ends, the state has already seen intense heat, with temperatures that usually last until April arriving as early as the first week of March. The winter is nearly gone from western Rajasthan, and summer has started, with daytime highs exceeding 36°C. Most districts are recording minimum and maximum temperatures 2 to 5°C above normal. Weather experts warn that the heat could intensify further in early March, particularly around Holi. If an anticyclone forms and a heatwave begins from western Rajasthan, temperatures might reach 40°C.
In the past 24 hours, the weather has mostly been clear with bright sunshine. Some areas, including Jaipur, Alwar, and Udaipur, experienced light clouds. On Tuesday, Barmer recorded the highest temperature at 36.3°C, causing significant discomfort.
Jaipur, the capital, experienced light clouds during the day, but temperatures stayed high, with a maximum of 30.5°C. Humidity was slight, adding to the heat. The morning and evening chills have mostly disappeared. The minimum temperature was 17.2°C, higher than usual.
