Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that the nine new free trade agreements will help India go global. They will make it easier for our goods, services, farm products, fish, and other labor-intensive products to reach the markets that need them.
The minister reminded that India has signed free trade deals with 38 developed countries, accounting for two-thirds of the world's GDP. He said, "No country has developed by isolating itself."
Countries that innovate, connect with the world, and compete reach the top. He said that the story of China is strong but limited by what their neighbors can do. He said that India wants to move ahead with humanity and kindness.

Meanwhile, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal expressed confidence that the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will increase opportunities in the Indian IT (information technology) sector. Goyal said, "The nature of jobs will change, and people like me are not at all worried about the negative impact of AI."
Goyal compared the massive spending on AI by global companies in the last few years to the Y2K boom of the early 20th century.
At that time, there were fears that computers would stop working at the turn of the century in 2000. I see AI as a similar turning point. Goyal's statement came after the AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi.
