Indian Army successfully tests anti-tank missile system, another success of DRDO

The "Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile System," or anti-tank missile system, was developed in-house by the Indian Army and successfully tested. On Saturday, this test was carried out in Rajasthan. Made in India as part of the Make in India initiative, this missile system is portable. Now that the test has been successful, the army can incorporate the anti-tank missile system.

Officials said that this weapon system has been developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The system consists of an MPATGM, launcher, target acquisition equipment and a fire control unit. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised DRDO and the Indian Army for the successful testing of the anti-tank missile system and called it an important step towards achieving self-reliance in the development of modern technology-based defence systems.

The Defense Ministry said on Sunday that the MPATG weapon system was evaluated several times in various flight conditions to prove the technology with high superiority. 'This weapon system was successfully tested at Pokhran Field Firing Range on 13 April. The performance of the missile has been found remarkable. It is noteworthy that this anti-tank missile system can be used both day and night. DRDO Chairman Sameer V Kamat congratulated the teams associated with this test.
