Apple iOS 26 Update to Bring 25W Wireless Charging Boost for iPhone 16

Apple is shortly going to release a stable version of the new software for its older generation iPhone devices. This new version of software is going to arrive with Liquid Glass UI, Apple Intelligence feature, and many more features. If rumors are to be believed, iPhone 16 users could receive a significant charging boost.

Apple can enhance iPhone 16 devices' wireless charging speeds using third-party Qi2-certified chargers in the iOS 26 update. The feature has been seen in the iOS 26 beta update.

According to a Macrumors report, support for Qi 2.2 for the iPhone 16 series has been spotted in the iOS 26 beta update. That is, all models of iPhone 16 will now support 25W wireless charging with third-party Qi2 chargers. Earlier, iPhone users had to use the Apple MagSafe charger for fast charging.

The wireless charging speed for third-party chargers was fixed at 15W. After this update, iPhone 16 users will be able to take advantage of fast charging with wireless charging with the Qi2 standard.

This can be good news for iPhone 16 users as well as iPhone 17 series models. The new models will also support 25W wireless charging with Qi2.2 standard charging. Some reports are claiming that this time the company can add support for 50W wireless charging in its devices. At present, nothing is confirmed about this.

Apple will launch iOS 26 with its latest iPhone 17 series in September. Apple has not yet announced its launch event. It is possible that the company may launch the iPhone 17 series on September 9. The new models will be released along with the iPhone 17. After this, the company will release updates for older devices.
