Karnataka Govt Offers 50% Discount on Pending Traffic Challans Till September 12
The Karnataka government has announced a 50 percent discount on the fines of pending cases registered through the police department's mobile e-challan system. This will give relief to people in paying their old challans, and they will be able to save the amount of fine.
If challan is pending on your vehicle, then this is the best time to settle it. In fact, the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka has made a grand announcement on Thursday.
In fact, the government of Karnataka has introduced a 50 percent off on payment of fines of pending cases booked through the mobile e-challan system of the police department.
Karnataka government is offering this discount from 23 August to 12 September. The offer will not be given after that. The order stated that the decision has been made after the Bengaluru Transport and Road Safety Commissioner had approached the government with a similar request for exemption in settling cases registered under the Transport Department prior to 2018-19.

The Greater Bengaluru Governance (Amendment) Bill 2025 was passed in the Karnataka Assembly on Tuesday. Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar introduced the bill in the House. It was approved after discussion with opposition leaders and MLAs.
The bill aims to split the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) into five municipal corporations. Despite stiff opposition from the BJP and the JD(S), the Congress-led government is all set to split the BBMP and hold elections.
Speaking on the proposed bill, Shivakumar said there is a small clarification in it. Though the bill has been passed earlier, some people had filed petitions in the court.
So, now we have made it clear in this bill that the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will not interfere in the affairs of municipal corporations under the 74th amendment of the Constitution.
