Sikar (Rajasthan). Three women were killed in a stampede outside the Khatushyam temple in Rajasthan's Sikar district in the early hours of Monday. Police gave this information. Sikar Superintendent of Police Kunwar Rashtradeep said, “The accident happened at 4.30 am when the temple opened. There were long queues outside the temple and a 63-year-old woman, standing in a queue in a huge crowd, fell. He had heart disease. Two other women standing behind him also fell. He died in the stampede."

Expressing grief over the death of the women, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed condolences to the bereaved family members. Gehlot tweeted, "The death of three women worshiping women due to stampede at Khatushyam Ji's temple in Sikar is very sad. My deepest sympathies are with the bereaved family. May God give them the strength to bear this loss and may the soul of the departed rest in peace. I wish a speedy recovery to the devotees who were injured in the stampede.” Rashtradeep said that the accident happened a few meters from the entrance of the temple.

The temple remained closed at night and the visitors started forming queues so that they could have darshan as soon as the temple opened. Police are examining the CCTV footage to gather more information about the incident.
