Early March Heat Intensifies in Rajasthan; 38°C Recorded in Jaisalmer and Chittorgarh

At the beginning of March, the heat wave in Rajasthan intensified rapidly. Daytime temperatures in many districts are being recorded well above normal. On Friday, the maximum temperature in Jaisalmer reached 38 degrees Celsius, well above normal. The Meteorological Department has warned that the heat in western Rajasthan may intensify in the coming days. The department has issued a yellow alert for March 9 and 10, anticipating a heatwave. Clear weather and a steady rise in temperatures are expected in the state for the next week. On Friday, Jaisalmer and Chittorgarh recorded the state's highest maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures were significantly above normal in many districts. Ganganagar recorded a daytime temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius above normal. Jaisalmer recorded 7.5 degrees Celsius, Churu 7.3 degrees Celsius, Jaipur 6.7 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 6.9 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur and Kota 4.9 degrees Celsius, Ajmer 5.6 degrees Celsius, and Barmer 5.1 degrees Celsius.

According to weather experts, an anticyclone over the Arabian Sea has been active for an extended period. This is why states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh are experiencing the effects of premature heat. However, after the intense heat during the day, people are getting some relief at night. Due to the drop in temperatures, nights are remaining relatively cool. On Friday, minimum temperatures were recorded below 20 degrees Celsius in most cities except Kota, Jaipur, and Phalodi.
