Yellow Heatwave Alert Issued for Jaisalmer, Barmer, Balotra as Heat Intensifies in Rajasthan
Rajasthan Weather: The heat wave has intensified in Rajasthan, with temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius for the first time. Pilani was the hottest at 40.2 degrees Celsius. Heatwaves hit Barmer and Balotra.
The heat wave in Rajasthan is intensifying, with maximum temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius for the first time this season. On Sunday, the Barmer and Balotra regions were gripped by a heatwave. More than 15 cities, including Jaipur, Ajmer, and Kota, recorded maximum daytime temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius or more.
According to the Meteorological Center, Jaipur, there is no immediate relief from the heat in the state. The department has issued a yellow heatwave alert for Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Balotra for Monday and Tuesday. The Meteorological Department estimates that temperatures may rise by another 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next week.
Pilani and Barmer in Jhunjhunu district were the hottest areas during the past 24 hours. On Sunday, Pilani recorded a maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius, while Barmer reached 40 degrees Celsius. Barmer, Balotra, and the surrounding areas experienced bright sunshine from the morning, followed by a mild to moderate heat wave throughout the day, causing severe heat. Bikaner recorded a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius, Churu 39.1 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer 39.2 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur 38.8 degrees Celsius, and Phalodi 38.2 degrees Celsius. These areas also experienced the effects of the heat throughout the day.

Over 15 cities in the state recorded maximum temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius or above on Sunday. Temperatures of 37.5 degrees Celsius were recorded in Pali, 37.4 degrees Celsius in Jhunjhunu, 36.6 degrees Celsius in Karauli, 38.5 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur, 37.3 degrees Celsius in Jalore and Dungarpur, 37.4 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, 36.3 degrees Celsius in Udaipur, 36.7 degrees Celsius in Kota, 36 degrees Celsius in Sikar and Bhilwara, 36.2 degrees Celsius in Alwar, and 37 degrees Celsius in Ajmer. The capital, Jaipur, has also been experiencing a steady rise in temperatures over the past week. The maximum temperature on March 1st was 32.2 degrees Celsius, which gradually increased to 37.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
