The heat in Rajasthan is rapidly increasing. The Meteorological Center in Jaipur has issued a yellow heatwave alert for four districts, including Jaisalmer and Barmer, for March 10 and 11. On Monday, Barmer recorded a temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius, the highest in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures may further increase by 1-2 degrees over the next week, with temperatures expected to remain 5-9 degrees above normal in many areas. A drop of 2-3 degrees is also possible due to the activation of a western disturbance on March 11-12.
On Monday, Barmer was the hottest district in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius. Pilani recorded a temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius. Over the past 24 hours, most cities across the state experienced clear skies, and bright sunshine kept people feeling the heat throughout the day. However, a slight drop in temperatures occurred in Pilani and Chirawa areas after noon due to light clouds.
According to the Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius in many areas of the state for the next two to three days. Heatwave conditions may also develop in some areas by March 11th. Furthermore, maximum temperatures are expected to remain 5 to 9 degrees Celsius above normal for the next three to four days in most of the remaining parts of the state. The department also states that a new western disturbance may become active in parts of northwest India between March 11th and 12th. This impact is expected to cause a drop in temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures are steadily rising in the capital, Jaipur. On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.8 degrees Celsius, which is above normal. The day was marked by intense sunlight, making it feel hot and the heat persisted until late in the evening. The minimum temperature in Jaipur was recorded at 22.8 degrees Celsius, while the humidity level dropped to around 30 percent.
Meteorologists say that temperatures are rising rapidly due to less than normal rainfall in northern and central India in February. Due to this reduced rainfall, the sun's rays are reaching the ground directly, causing the ground to warm faster. Furthermore, the formation of an anti-cyclonic circulation over western and central India is also increasing the heat.
