India creates history by winning Women's Hockey Junior Asia Cup: First-time winner

The Indian hockey team created history by defeating four-time champions South Korea in the final of the Junior Women's Asia Cup. In the final match played on Sunday, the Indian team became the champion of the Asia Cup for the first time by defeating South Korea 2-1.
At the same time, with the victory in the semi-finals, the Indian team also qualified for the Junior World Cup. The Junior World Cup will be held in Chile from 29 November to 10 December this year.
In the final match of this tournament held in Kakamigahara city of Japan, India, and South Korea were tied in the first half. Both teams scored one goal each in the first half. Annu (22') and Neelam (41') scored the first goal for India. Park Seon scored the only goal for Korea.
Earlier, the Indian team had topped the points table in the league matches. Out of 4 matches played in the league, India won 3 while one match ended in a draw. The Indian team defeated Uzbekistan 22-0 in their first match in the league.
In the second match, Malaysia was defeated 2-1. While there was a draw with Korea in the third match. In the last league match, Chinese Taipei were defeated 11-0.
10 teams participated in this tournament. Along with the Indian team, four other teams were given direct entry into the under-21 hockey tournament on the basis of their world rankings, which included teams from China, Korea, Japan, and Malaysia.
The remaining five teams, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia qualified for the tournament through the Women's Junior Cup held in Kazakhstan in October last year.
