CISF Announces Major Welfare Boost: Cheaper Loans, Expanded Scholarships, and Better Medical Support for Personnel

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has taken several initiatives as a major step to promote the welfare of its personnel and their families. This will include an increase in scholarship opportunities for children, loans at low interest rates, more benefits for retired employees, better assistance for medical treatment, provision of funds for unit-level programs, etc.

CISF informed that the interest rates on personal loans were earlier up to six percent. Now the interest rates have been halved to three percent in all categories, while medical treatment loans will attract only two percent interest. The loan amount has been increased from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh in cases like home loans, marriage, etc., while the repayment period has been increased from three years to five years now.

The out-of-pocket expenses on unpaid medical bills under schemes like Ayushman CAPF and CGHS will be fully reimbursed from the Central Welfare Fund. Another important decision has been taken regarding the DG Scholarship Scheme.

Now it has been expanded to benefit a larger group of children of CISF personnel (studying in 10 + 2). Earlier, scholarships were given only to 150 students who scored more than 90 percent marks.

Now, all the children securing more than 80 percent marks will be eligible for a scholarship of Rs 20,000, and children securing more than 90 percent marks will be given Rs 25,000. There will be no limit on the number of beneficiaries.

Apart from this, the scholarship amount for the children of martyrs from class one to post-graduation has also been increased from the earlier Rs 6,000-18,000 to Rs 10,000-20,000. Here, too, there will be no limit on the number of beneficiaries. An online welfare portal is also being launched on Monday.
