BMS and Swadeshi Jagran Manch Welcome GST Reforms, Call It Relief for Common Man
GST 2.0: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and Swadeshi Jagran Manch have welcomed the reforms made in the GST structure. These organizations have said that the GST reforms made by the Finance Ministry are an important step towards the tax structure. The government has made changes in the basic structure of the GST law have also been appreciated by organizations like Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and Swadeshi Jagran Manch. These organizations have said that with this government decision, the tax burden will be reduced on the common people.
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh said in its statement, "The GST reforms undertaken by the Ministry of Finance are a significant step towards the tax structure. Traditionally, the indirect tax system was heavily dependent on taxing the day-to-day needs of the citizens. This trend has now been reversed through the next law, which mainly increases the tax burden on the people, while imposing higher taxes on luxury items consumed by the upper class. BMS Labour welcomes the reduction in taxes on essential daily use consumer goods, cement products, including insurance policies, educational material, agricultural machinery and other inputs, automobiles, electronic devices, and other items commonly used by the middle class and below."
On the other hand, Swadeshi Jagran Manch also welcomed the bold GST reforms announced by the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the call to adopt Swadeshi and empower the nation from the Red Fort on August 15 has been given tangible form by the government. The Manch said in its statement that the reduction and simplification of GST rates is not just a fiscal move but a Swadeshi-oriented reform. This will encourage domestic industries, empower MSMEs, support traders and artisans and further strengthen the foundation of Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
