Renowned video streaming platform YouTube is now planning to take a strict stand on password sharing, just like Netflix. Recent, reports  Recent reports show that the company is taking action against users who are not in the same house and are enjoying YouTube Premium by sharing their password with their friends to prevent misuse of the YouTube Premium Family Plan. If seen, this step is exactly like the one taken by Netflix recently to stop password sharing.

Actually, YouTube's Premium Family plan is Rs 299 per month, and apart from the family manager, a total of 5 accounts can be added to it. However, now the condition for that is that all the members should be at the same address. Yes, till now this rule was just in name, and the company was not strictly implementing it, but many users had also added their friends and relatives to this plan. However, now Google can stop it soon.

Android Police report states that the company has also sent an email to some users for this, in which those who share passwords have been warned. The subject of this email reads that Your YouTube Premium family membership will be paused.

Along with this, it has also been clarified in the mail that all the family plan members should be in the same house. If a user does not do this, then after 14 days his premium facilities will be stopped. Earlier, electronic check-in used to happen every 30 days, but it did not have any significant impact. However, after the implementation of the new rules, users who give wrong addresses will now only get access to YouTube along with ads.
