Kohli starts practice for WTC final: Gaffney and Illingworth to be on-field umpires

Virat Kohli has started practice for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final. The WTC match will be played next month from June 7 between India and Australia at The Oval ground in London. At the same time, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials.
Even before the Indian Premier League (IPL), final, many players of Team India reached England. Team India captain Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ishaan Kishan also left for England on Sunday. These three players will also join the squad soon. Whereas, Virat Kohli has reached London. He has also started practice. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami, Shubman Gill, and Ajinkya Rahane will leave after the IPL final.
ICC has announced the match officials for the WTC final. Apart from this, there will be a reserve day on 12th June. The ICC has informed that Chris Gaffney of New Zealand and Richard Illingworth of England will be the on-field umpires.
Richard kettlebrough, another English umpire, will officiate in the second consecutive WTC final. He will be the TV umpire ie third umpire. Sri Lanka's Kumar Dharmasena will be the fourth umpire. Richie Richardson of West Indies will be the match referee.
