The prestigious and most important domestic tournament of Indian cricket that is Ranji Trophy is being played in two phases for the first time. The first phase of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season has ended, in which all 32 teams played 5-5 matches in the Elite Group. Now its second phase will be played in January-February next year. If we look at the points table of all the four groups after the completion of the first phase, then Baroda is at the top in Group A, Vidarbha in Group B, Haryana in Group-C, while Tamil Nadu team is at the top in Group D. In such a situation, it is almost certain that these four teams will get a place in the knockout round.

With the win in the first phase of 5 matches played, Baroda team has won 4 and played a draw. Currently, Baroda team has 27 points while their net run rate is -0.082. After this, Jammu and Kashmir team is at number two in Group A, with three wins and two draws in 5 matches, in which they have a total of 23 points. Mumbai is at number three with 22 points.

Points Vidarbha team is at the number one position in Group-B with 28 points. Vidarbha has won 4 out of its five matches while one match ended in a draw. At number two in the same group, the Himachal Pradesh team holds number two position with 3 wins and 2 losses in 5 matches. In this group, Gujarat is at third place with 19 points and Rajasthan is at fourth place with 16 points.

Haryana leads the table in Group C with 20 points from two wins and three draws. Kerala team is at second place with 18 points, while third and fourth place respectively is occupied by Bengal and Karnataka. Bengal has 14 points from one win, while Karnataka has 12 points. Karnataka has won one match, while its four matches ended in draws.

In Group-D, Tamil Nadu is leading with 19 points from 2 wins and 3 draws in 5 matches. The Chandigarh team is at second place with 19 points from 3 wins and 2 losses. Railways and Delhi have scored equal 14-14 points, but on the basis of average they are at third and fourth place respectively.
