Makar Sankranti Alert: Jaipur Metro Warns Against Kite Flying Near Tracks
Jaipur Metro Warning: Jaipur Metro has issued an advisory regarding safety during kite flying on Makar Sankranti.
Lack of care while kite flying on Makar Sankranti can be deadly. Jaipur Metro has released an advisory on how to be cautious while kite flying on Makar Sankranti. The Metro Rail Corporation has urged Jaipur residents not to fly kites along the route of Jaipur Metro.
The Jaipur Metro administration states that the Metro from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar is operated by a 25,000-volt high-tension power line, which carries electricity 24 hours a day. These power lines are approximately 30 meters above the road on the Metro route.
If a kite string becomes entangled in these wires, the current can reach the kite flyer directly through the string. This poses a serious risk of injury and even death.
Last year, during Makar Sankranti, incidents occurred where kite strings became entangled on the metro route, often causing the metro's wheels to halt.
