Hosts Pakistan began their 2025 Women's World Cup Qualifier campaign by beating Ireland by 38 runs. Scotland, meanwhile, achieved an incredible 11-run victory over West Indies despite resistance from captain Hayley Matthews. Muniba Ali (32) and Sidra Amin built an encouraging 77-run opening stand at the Gaddafi Stadium, while Amin was dismissed for 51 off 112 balls later. Alia Riaz led by achieving her half-century in 54 balls, while her 52 helped to hasten the home side's innings.

But Ireland staged an incredible recovery after she was dismissed, as Pakistan lost 23 runs for their last five wickets and were bowled out for 217 in 49 overs, while Jane Maguire picked 3-33. Gabby Lewis and Amy Hunter contributed 44 for Ireland and put on 69 for the second wicket. Later, 37 came from Orla Prendergast, and Ireland had 178 for nine, while pacer Diana Baig claimed 4-35. Pakistan finally wrapped up the win by running Cara Murray out as Ireland were bowled out for 179 in 44 overs.

In another match, West Indies were defeated by Scotland by 11 runs. Batting first, Scotland scored 244. In reply to 245, the West Indies women's cricket team was bowled out for just 233. Captain Hayley Matthews played an unbeaten innings of 114 runs in 113 balls but there was no support from any batsman from the other end and the entire team was all out for 233 runs in 46.2 overs. Now Scotland's next match will be against Pakistan. West Indies will face Ireland on 11 April.

Pakistan will face the West Indies on 14 April, and Thailand will play the last match. Six teams are participating in these qualifiers. The teams that are in the top 2 after all the matches will get a chance to play in the Women's ODI Cricket World Cup, which will be played in India. India, Australia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and South Africa have directly qualified for this tournament.
