One of the greatest ambitions of the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, has now become a reality. The way has now been laid out for Musk to launch a total of 7,500 new satellites into space with his project, Starlink. The regulator in the US has given approval to Elon Musk’s satellite venture, SpaceX, marking 15,000 satellites so far to be cleared within his project, Starlink.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has called it a game-changer. He has explained that the arrival of these 7,500 new satellites will significantly expand satellite broadband capacity. This will not only increase internet speeds but also increase competition in the market, benefiting consumers.

Notably, the company has also received permission to operate on five different frequencies. However, the company has been given a strict deadline. Musk must deploy half of the satellites by the end of 2028 and the remaining satellites by 2031.

Starlink's network is a network of satellites in space that transmit signals to each other to deliver high-speed internet. The increased number of satellites will directly improve connectivity and internet speeds. The Starlink team is already in discussions with Indian authorities to obtain the necessary licenses and approvals. Therefore, the increased number of satellites is good news for Indian users, as they will be able to access a better network once the service is launched.

Elon Musk has already clarified that Starlink's technology is better suited for remote rural areas than densely populated metropolises. Musk believes that providing high-speed internet via satellite to so many people simultaneously in crowded cities is currently unfeasible. Satellite bandwidth is limited for a given area, so Starlink will be most effective in places where traditional fiber or cable internet cannot reach.
