Tenders issued for rural bus service: 8 out of 11 districts did not apply for bus operations

Private bus operators are not liking the functioning and policies of the roadways officials. Because of this, the private bus operators did not show interest in the tender floated by the roadways for the rural bus service to be started in Jaipur and Jodhpur divisions. The situation is that applications for 8 districts have not come in the tender drawn for bus operations in 11 districts. In such a situation, the rural bus service of roadways has been limited to 3 districts in the beginning. It consists of three districts Jaipur, Dausa and Alwar. Because of this, even before starting, the government's important rural bus service scheme seems to be a flop. Initially, 2600 panchayats of 11 districts have to be connected with the rural bus scheme.
The Congress government had started the rural bus service in the last term as well, but even after 6 years, Rs 16 crore has not been paid to the bus operators. This is the situation when the government has already paid the Viability Gap Fund to the roadways. Most of the private bus operators became bank defaulters due to non-payment on time. The officials deducted the amount by imposing a fine of crores of rupees on the operators without any mistake.
