Samsung Display Unveils Nearly Crease-Free Foldable Screen with In-Display Camera
Samsung Display, Samsung's display manufacturing division, has been working on reducing creases on foldable screens for some time. It showcased its crease-free display during the 2026 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026). It could debut in Apple's first foldable iPhone.
Samsung Display, the display manufacturing unit of the South Korean firm, has been tinkering with how to remove the creases from its foldable display for quite some time now. This display has featured in some earlier leaks, and now it seems they have been successful with making a creaseless display. Samsung Display has now demonstrated its crease-less display technology at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026) event, which kicked off on Tuesday. The new display boasts an in-display front camera, with some rumors suggesting it may arrive with Apple's first foldable iPhone.
In a post on X, tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) shared an image of a foldable display with no visible crease, which Samsung Display showcased on the first day of CES 2026. It's said to feature in-display camera technology to hide the selfie shooter within the display panel, eliminating visual breaks and providing a more immersive experience.
Furthermore, the tipster claims that Apple will use this display in its rumored iPhone Fold, which will have a smaller center crease. According to the leaker, Samsung may also use this display technology for the rumored Galaxy Wide Fold.

However, neither of these tech giants has made any announcements regarding the plans for these foldables. Therefore, this speculation cannot be taken seriously. If true, this would be a major development in display technology, which currently uses hole-punch cutouts to house front-facing cameras.
The leaked image also shows the foldable display panel with relatively thin bezels and curved corners. This is consistent with recently leaked CAD renders of the iPhone Fold. The image showed the phone's dual rear camera setup inside a horizontal pill-shaped module.
The iPhone Fold is expected to launch in September 2026. It is expected to feature a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch foldable screen on the inside. It is said to be 9mm thick when folded and 4.5mm thick when unfolded. Along with the dual rear camera unit, it is also expected to feature dual selfie cameras, with one sensor on the inner display and the other on the cover display.
