According to a report, a 65-year-old woman from Japan's Shiga province met a man on social media. He described himself as a Russian astronaut and posted some space-related photos on his social media handle.
Seeing the profile, the woman got impressed and got caught in his trap. A conversation started between the two. After some time the man talked about marrying the woman. The man told that he works in the International Space Station and wants to marry the woman. After winning the woman's trust, the man asked her for money to return to the earth. He said that there is a landing fee to come to Earth. For this he needs money.
The woman had faith in the man, so she sent money in 5 installments between August 19 and September 5. But the demand for money kept increasing. After this the woman got suspicious. He lodged a complaint with the police. According to local media, the police are treating it as an international romance scam. The matter is being investigated.
