Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told the army commanders' conference on Wednesday that they should keep a close watch on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, as the situation in the northern sector remains tense in view of the deployment of Chinese troops. He said that our armed forces, especially the Indian Army, have to be on constant vigil for the security of the LAC.
The Defense Minister said, 'The security of the country is the priority of the government. I assure that the government is trying its best to provide state-of-the-art weapons and facilities to every jawan posted on the border. He told the armed forces to pay attention to the geopolitical changes around the world and try to make their plans and strategies accordingly.
Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, the Defense Minister said that there is peace and stability there and there has been a big decline in the number of terrorist activities. In the North Eastern states also, the internal security situation has improved significantly following the operations of the Indian Army.
Rajnath said that at this time the world is facing many uncertainties. Due to this, the wars ahead will be completely unpredictable. Along with this, in the changing situation of the present times, the scope of threats and weapons has become huge. We need to assess our defence preparedness. During this, he also emphasized the effective use of intelligence data.
