Bundi News: Young man fell into a pond after slipping, his friend also drowned while trying to save him, both died in the accident

Two youths died by drowning in a tragic accident late Friday evening near Kajri Silor village of Sadar police station locality. Initially, a young man slipped and lost his balance while relieving himself at Dand ki Talai, and while attempting to save him, his friend also drowned. Both their bodies were retrieved and brought out with the assistance of the civil defense and police team. Both their bodies have been placed at the mortuary of the district hospital, where the post-mortem will be carried out by the doctors in the presence of their family members tomorrow morning.

Head Constable Virendra Singh of Sadar police station said that the information about the accident was received at around seven o'clock on Friday evening. The police who reached the spot found that one of the deceased was 43-year-old Ramchandra, son of Nageshwar Paswan, resident of Dand, while the other was 30-year-old Shankar, son of Rameshwar Mali, resident of Thikarda.

According to the head constable, Ramchandra had gone to the pond to defecate when his foot slipped and he fell into the water. Hearing his scream, his friend Shankar, who was nearby, ran and tried to save him. During this time, he also lost his balance and drowned in the pond. Police investigation revealed that Ramchandra was employed in the Food Corporation of India, while Shankar worked as a wooden speaker maker. Both the youths lived together in a rented room near Dand pond.
