The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is launching a fresh feature on its 'Rajamarg Yatra' app. By this feature, passengers will get an opportunity to choose a route between two locations on which they will pay a minimum amount of toll. The feature will start from next month.

Amrit Singha, Chief Product Officer of NHAI's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), said that, "If you are going from Delhi to Lucknow, then you have three routes: Yamuna Expressway, Ghaziabad-Aligarh-Kanpur-Lucknow route, or Moradabad-Bareilly-Sitapur-Lucknow route. Now this app will tell you which route will have the lowest toll. "The Highway Travel App gives complete information related to national highways to the passengers and also provides a complaint redressal facility.

NHAI will soon announce the inauguration of a 67 km long new spur (connectivity road) from Bandikui to Jaipur along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Once this road is opened, Delhi-Jaipur connectivity will become even quicker. It is a four-lane access-controlled road constructed at a cost of Rs 1,368 crore, said Pradeep Atri, Regional Officer of NHAI Rajasthan. This road will go under trial by mid-July.

NHAI Manager Pushpendra Singh said that the construction of this road has been completed in about 2.5 years. As soon as it starts, the traffic pressure on the old Delhi-Jaipur highway will be reduced to a great extent. Currently, it takes 2.5 hours from Delhi to Bandikui via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and then 1.5 hours from Bandikui to Jaipur, but with the new spur once it starts operating, this journey will be completed in about 3 hours.
