India successfully tests long-range hypersonic missile. The active cooled combustor of scramjet engine was successfully tested on the ground for 1000 seconds. Hypersonic missiles travel five times the speed of sound. In other words, the missiles are faster than Mach 5.

Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) laboratory of Hyderabad, has made a major achievement in the development of hypersonic weapon technology. The world's major powers are working to make such missiles as they have the capability of bypassing current missile and air defence systems. The uniqueness of the missile lies in the fact that it has high speed, fine control and the capability of flying at very low altitude.

Earlier on Thursday, the Indian Navy's indigenously built warship INS Surat made a precise attack on a fast-flying target in the sea. The indigenous guided missile Destroyer hit the target in the sea. With this achievement, the Navy has become even more powerful. This achievement shows the vision of self-reliant India in the defense sector.

Pakistan is also going to do missile testing in the same area. Recently Pakistan had issued a notification. Pakistan has announced to test missiles in the Arabian Sea region.
