Now the reservation chart will be prepared 8 hours before the train departs, these rules have also changed
Railway News: There is important news for Indian Railways passengers. Now the reservation chart will be made 8 hours in advance instead of 4 hours, which will be convenient for the passengers. For trains departing before 2 pm, the chart will be prepared at 9 pm the previous night. From July, there will also be changes in the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) so that more than 1.5 lakh tickets can be booked per minute.

Some modifications are being prepared for the convenience of passengers in the Railways. The biggest modification will be in the reserve system. Ticket-booking process for tickets will be more transparent and convenient. Passengers will receive confirmed/waitlist information eight hours before the train's departure. Currently, the reservation charts are prepared four hours before the train's departure and resulting in hardship for the travelers on the waitlist.
Especially, travelers from other states face hardship due to the fact that the position was not certain until very late. The new method of reservations will be implemented by December 2025. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently studied these reforms and declared several important decisions.
The rules for instant ticket booking will also be tightened. According to the proposal of the Railway Board, the reservation chart of trains that have to depart before 2 pm will be made by 9 pm the day before. This will give information about the status of their confirmation to those on the waiting list. This will enable them to make alternative travel arrangements if needed.
The Railway Minister has approved the proposal. He says that the ticket booking system should be transparent, easy, and effective. All systems should be made state-of-the-art by keeping the experience of the passengers at the center. Every stage from ticket booking to travel should be technology-based and passenger-friendly. The task of making the new reservation system easier has been given to the Center for Information Systems. The new system will be about ten times more capable than the current capacity.
