Ishan Kishan has a great opportunity to return to the Indian team, will play this tournament from August 15
Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament 2024: India is going to play 10 Test matches in the next five months. In such a situation, Kishan would like to return to the Indian team by playing red-ball cricket.
Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is set to make a comeback in red-ball cricket through the upcoming Buchi Babu tournament. Ishan will lead Jharkhand in the upcoming Buchi Babu tournament. The tournament is scheduled to start in Tamil Nadu on August 15. Kishan was earlier not included in the list of probable players in the Jharkhand team but now he is set to join the Jharkhand team on Wednesday. Ishan's decision is being considered as the first step towards his return to first-class cricket. Ishan Kishan informed the Jharkhand State Cricket Association about his decision and then he was included in the team.
Now it is also expected that Ishan Kishan will also be a part of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season. He played his last domestic match in December 2022. In the last days of the 2023-24 Ranji season, he decided to keep himself away from domestic cricket. This decision of Kishan cost him a lot. Due to this, the BCCI did not make him a part of the annual contract.
An official of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association said, "There was never any question about Kishan's ability. Here the whole matter depended on whether he was ready to return to the team or not. This decision was completely in his hands. When he was not included in the list of preliminary players, it was only because he did not tell us about his inclusion. The moment he expressed his desire to return to the team, he was included in the team."
Kishan's return to red-ball cricket has come at a time when India is heading towards a long Test season. India is going to play 10 Test matches in the next five months. However, it is not going to be easy for Kishan to return to the team.
