IPS Officer Suspend: The Election Commission suspended IPS Kishan Sahay Meena, a Police Observer in Gumla. He is accused of returning to Rajasthan from duty without permission during the assembly elections. The commission took this action on the complaint of the District Election Officer. Rathore Kirit Kumar Haribhai has been appointed as Police Observer in Gumla in place of Meena.

Election Commission suspended IPS officer Kishan Sahay Meena who was posted as Police Observer in Gumla. This IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre is accused of returning to Rajasthan from duty without permission during the assembly elections.

He did not get permission from the Election Commission to return from duty. The commission took this action on the complaint of the District Election Officer. Meena is a police officer of the year 2004 batch.

The commission has posted Rathore Kirit Kumar Haribhai as his replacement as a Police Observer in Gumla. Rathore is a police officer of the 2010 batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre. This is the first case when the Commission has taken action against an observer in this assembly election.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Singh and Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar, Dr. Neha Arora also cast their votes at respective polling stations on Wednesday. The Chief Electoral Officer along with his wife R. Jagtha voted at booth number 374 located at Government Model High School, Doranda.

He, therefore, appealed to the electorate of this urban area this time that it was high time people exercised their franchise, removing their indifference towards voting. He said, "The franchise is not only their right but also their duty towards democracy."

At the same time, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Singh voted at booth number 339 of Nehru Sanskriti Kendra, Jawahar Nagar under Kanke Assembly.

Similarly, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Neha Arora cast her vote at booth number 49 of Tehsil Kachheri, Ratu Road, Ranchi. These officers also appealed to the voters for their participation in this festival of democracy.

State Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar cast his vote on Wednesday at the polling booth at Srikrishna Institute of Public Administration (ATI) at 7.30 am in the Jharkhand Assembly election. He sent hearty greetings on this occasion to the people of the state on this great festival of democracy.

He further called upon all the voters to take an active part in this great festival and cast their franchise compulsorily. The Governor said that being responsible citizens, it is a bounden duty for all of us to vote.
