Heavy rainfall activities will persist in eastern Rajasthan during the next 3-4 days. Because of water release from Kota Barrage, the level of the Chambal River has begun to rise in Dholpur. For this reason, the district administration has sounded an alert.

Hitherto, during the season, the state has seen 135 percent more rainfall than average. A heavy rain alert has been sounded in Banswara, Baran, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, Kota, and Pratapgarh on Saturday. Heavy rains were also seen in Dausa, Jaipur, and Sawai Madhopur on Friday. The maximum amount of rainfall of 180 mm was seen in Tonk. 806 mm of rain has been seen in Tonk from June 1 to July 4.

However, due to less rain in western Rajasthan, the effect of heat is increasing. In the last 24 hours, the day temperature in the areas of Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer was recorded between 38 to 43 degrees.

The inflow of water in the dams of the state continues. According to the report of the Water Resources Department, on July 4, 192 MCM of water arrived in the dams of the state. Out of these, 51 dams with a 4.25-meter capacity and larger size were completely filled. At the same time, 412 dams are partially filled. While 229 dams are still completely empty. The Chambal River is flowing 3 meters below the danger mark. At the same time, the inflow of water is also continuing in Bisalpur. Due to the release of water from Kota Barrage, the water level of the Chambal River in Dholpur has started increasing. The administration has issued an alert in the low-lying areas.
