Heavy rain warning in seven districts, Chambal reaches near danger mark in Dholpur
Rajasthan Monsoon Update: A Heavy rain alert has been issued in 7 districts of Rajasthan today. The Chambal River is flowing near the danger mark in Dholpur due to the release of water from Kota Barrage.
Heavy rainfall activities will persist in eastern Rajasthan during the next 3-4 days. Because of water release from Kota Barrage, the level of the Chambal River has begun to rise in Dholpur. For this reason, the district administration has sounded an alert.
Hitherto, during the season, the state has seen 135 percent more rainfall than average. A heavy rain alert has been sounded in Banswara, Baran, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, Kota, and Pratapgarh on Saturday. Heavy rains were also seen in Dausa, Jaipur, and Sawai Madhopur on Friday. The maximum amount of rainfall of 180 mm was seen in Tonk. 806 mm of rain has been seen in Tonk from June 1 to July 4.
However, due to less rain in western Rajasthan, the effect of heat is increasing. In the last 24 hours, the day temperature in the areas of Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer was recorded between 38 to 43 degrees.
