Foreign Minister Jaishankar gave a direct answer to how long will the Indus Water Treaty remain suspended?
Indus Water Treaty: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India took several major actions against Pakistan. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on Thursday that India's relations and dealings with Pakistan will be completely bilateral. Jaishankar said these things on the occasion of the inauguration of the Honduras Embassy.

India took several major actions against Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. India suspended the Indus Water Treaty. After this, India carried out precision attacks on terrorist infrastructure on the morning of 7 May. In this attack, 9 hideouts of terrorists in Pakistan and POJK were destroyed.
In the meantime, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, on Thursday, announced that India's dealings and relations with Pakistan would be bilateral, which has been the country's decades-long national consensus, and that there is "absolutely no change" therein.
Indeed, speaking to the media during an event, he also announced that the Indus Water Treaty will be kept on hold until Pakistan ceases its support for cross-border terrorism.
The Foreign Minister added that the UN Security Council had stressed that the culprits responsible for the Pahalgam attack must be brought to account, and on 7th May morning, we brought them to account through Operation Sindoor.
He said that India carried out precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure on the morning of May 7, after which Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military installations on May 8, 9, and 10. The Pakistani action was responded to strongly by the Indian side. On May 10, the hostilities ended with an agreement to stop military action after talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two sides.
The Foreign Minister said that water issues were raised I again to emphasize that the Cabinet Committee on Security has clearly stated that the Indus Water Treaty is suspended and will remain suspended until Pakistan credibly and irreversibly stops its support to cross-border terrorism. So, sometimes, the Kashmir issue is raised. Again, the only thing left to discuss on Kashmir is the evacuation of illegally occupied Indian territory in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, we are ready to discuss this with Pakistan. I want to state my position very clearly...the government's position is very, very clear.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that on the morning of May 10, several airbases of Pakistan were hit with precision. The Foreign Minister said that the pictures that have come out from the satellite show how much damage Pakistan has suffered. Regarding Pakistan, he said that people who were not ready to retreat on May 7 were ready to negotiate and retreat on May 10. It is very clear who wanted to stop the firing.
On the inauguration of the Honduras Embassy Speaking on the occasion, Jaishankar said that it is a very good thing for India that a country from the CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) group has a new embassy here.
He said that Honduras is a country where trade is growing, they support us politically. They were one of the countries that expressed strong solidarity in the case of the Pahalgam attack, so I appreciate it very much.
