After losing the toss, Zimbabwe came to bat and scored 115 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The start of fours was excellent, but nobody played big innings. Wicketkeeper Clive Madende scored 29 runs maximum in 25 balls with the help of four fours. Besides him, Dion Myers added 23 off 22 balls, Brian Bennett 23 off 15 balls, and Brian Bennett chipped in with 21 off 22 balls.
