Consider Vedic Board for admission to your courses, UGC urges universities

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has urged higher education institutions to consider the newly established Vedic Board for admission to their courses. The Ministry of Education recognized the Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Sanskrit Shiksha Board (MSRVSSB) as a regular school board two years ago.

Under the new board formed by Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan (MSRVSSB), the Veda Bhushan course will be equivalent to class 10th, while the Veda Vibhushan course will be parallel to class 12th. The certificates to be awarded by the board will be equivalent to certificates issued by other boards for university admission and recruitment in various central and state government bodies.

In an official notice, UGC said, "This is with reference to the communication received from the Ministry of Education regarding establishment of Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Sanskrit Shiksha Board (MSRVSSB) and equivalence of certificates issued by other Central State School Boards in India for the purpose of admission in higher education institutions and employment in Central State Government organisations, for information and further appropriate action. All universities and higher education institutions are requested to take note of the same and take all necessary action in compliance."
