Russia claimed to have killed 250 Ukrainian soldiers: and said- destroyed 16 tanks, Ukraine said- we foiled 23 Russian attacks
Russia has claimed to have foiled a major Ukrainian offensive in the Donetsk region. The Russian military said they killed 250 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed 16 tanks and several military vehicles. The Defense Ministry of Russia told on the Telegram channel on Monday that a major attack was launched by the enemy on June 4, which they could not get success.
No statement has been given by Ukraine on this claim of Russia yet. The Ukrainian army official only said that it was doing its best to prevent the completion of the Russian occupation of Luhansk and Donetsk. 23 Russian attacks have been foiled.
Russia has reported that Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov himself was present on the battlefield during the attack on the Ukrainian army. At the same time, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky did not make any mention of Russia's claim in his evening address.
He only said that Ukraine is ready to attack. In fact, for a long time, there is talk of preparations for a big attack on the Russian army of Ukraine. For this, Ukrainian soldiers are being trained to use weapons made in America, Britain, and Germany.
Russia is continuously raining missiles on other cities including Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. In return, Ukraine has also started attacking the areas bordering Russia. Now the fighting has reached the Belgorod region of Russia. The attacks have instilled in the people of Russia the same kind of panic that the people of Kyiv have been going through for 15 months.
Ukraine's attacks also include areas that are residential. The town of Shebekino, with a population of 40,000, about 10 km from the border, is most at risk from Ukrainian attacks. On this, militia groups have launched violent attacks against Moscow. Due to this Russian soldiers had to start rescue operations. His men are constantly evacuating people. This town is now deserted.
The New York Times spoke with Russian citizens affected by the attacks. He told that he has reached such a stage where he is feeling whether he will survive or not. Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said 2,500 residents were evacuated and taken to temporary shelters in playgrounds far from the border.
Nine residents have died from the shelling in three days. It is not clear how many Russians have been killed in the frontline in total. The city of Belgorod, with a population of 340,000, has historical ties to Ukraine. It is only 80 km from the border to Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine.
