RPSC's new chairman will be DGP UR Sahu; New Director General will be appointed soon

UR Sahu is a native of Odisha and a 1988 batch IPS officer. He took over as the DGP of Rajasthan on 11 February 2024. During his service period, Sahu has been counted among honest and strict administrative officers. His working style and leadership in the police department have been highly appreciated.

UR Sahu, Director General of Police of Rajasthan, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission. Official orders in this matter have been issued by Governor Haribhau Bagde. Sahu's appointment will mark the beginning of the process of deploying the new DGP in the state.

UR Sahu is from Odisha and is of the IPS cadre of the batch of 1988. Sahu assumed charge of being the DGP of Rajasthan on February 11, 2024. Sahu has been among the honest and strict administrative officers during his term of service. Sahu's working and leadership capacity in the police has been well appraised. 

Having acquired the responsibility of such a prominent constitutional role as RPSC, Sahu will now oversee the recruitment and selection process of the state. His appointment is considered an important step towards administrative transparency and impartiality.

The state government may soon make a decision regarding the appointment of a new DGP. It is expected that brainstorming has already begun on some names on the basis of seniority and experience. The series of good wishes from political and administrative circles is also continuing on UR Sahu's new responsibility.
