America's relationship with India is important to deal with China, Indian-American MP Ro Khanna bluntly

Indian-origin MP Ro Khanna has said that America's relations with India are important to deal with its strategic rivals China and Russia. He said that he thinks China and Russia will not always take a step forward, so there is an opportunity there. But we should keep a clear eye on what they are doing.

A bipartisan Congressional delegation from the US led by Khanna had recently visited India. After returning home, Khanna discussed the strategic relationship with the US in a conversation with radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt on Tuesday. He said that relations with India are going to be very important for America to deal with its strategic challenges.

Khanna said it was unreasonable for the US to expect India to block the Strait of Malacca during a conflict with China. But if China attacks Taiwan, India may become aggressive on its borders in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh, triggering a two-front war. The Strait of Malacca connects the Andaman Sea (Indian Ocean) and the South China Sea.
