According to a study by NordVPN, India ranks 23rd in the world in terms of cyber security and internet privacy knowledge. The country scored well in identifying online risks but performed poorly in safety practices.

NordVPN's annual National Privacy Test received responses from 175 countries this year. According to the report, Indians are good at creating strong passwords and securing sensitive data on social media and web browsers.

According to the report, Poland and Singapore lead in terms of internet privacy and cyber security awareness with a score of 64 out of 100. Germany and the United States are tied for second place with 63 points out of 100, while the United Kingdom, Austria, and Portugal are tied with 62 points out of 100.

India has scored 61 out of 100. The results also show that the world's overall awareness of online privacy and cybersecurity is declining year over year.

According to the report, Indians are good at creating strong passwords and securing sensitive data on social media and web browsers. However, only 5% are aware of online tools that protect digital privacy, and one in 10 is familiar with ISP metadata.

Only 36% acknowledge the importance of reading the terms of service. Only 8% are classified as knowledgeable cybersquatters, who are very knowledgeable in the field. More Indians are aware of cyber privacy, with 58% aware of it this year.
