Sharmila will take up the mission of reviving Congress; Now she will compete with her CM brother Jaganmohan in Andhra Pradesh
With Sharmila present beside Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, the party has attempted to convey that its political initiative in the state is significant and weighty. Sharmila has been involved in Telangana politics up until this point, although the Congress is currently in Andhra Pradesh. will put him forward to face Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, his brother.
The Congress welcomed YS Sharmila, the head of the YSR Telangana Party, as a member in a significant attempt to revitalise the party in Andhra Pradesh. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were present when Sharmila was, and this was one of the ways the party tried to show how serious and large-scale their political initiative was in the state.
Despite Sharmila's involvement in Telangana politics up until this point, the Congress has decided to field her to run against her brother, Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, in Andhra Pradesh. Sharmila stated unequivocally that she was prepared for this challenge and that she would give any task Congress assigned her all of her attention.
Sharmila declared her party, the YSR Telangana Party, will combine with Congress in addition to joining the Congress. When Sharmila and her followers arrived at the Congress headquarters at 24 Akbar Road, Kharge and Rahul cordially welcomed her into the party while she was flying the party flag. Following this, Sharmila told the media that the Congress is the largest secular party in the nation because it brings together people from all walks of life. I'm overjoyed that today will see the YSR Telangana Party join the Indian National Congress.
Describing her father, former Chief Minister YSR Reddy, as a great Telugu leader, he said that he not only served the Congress all his life but also gave his life and he is very happy that his daughter is following his path and becoming a part of the Congress. Sharmila was about to join Congress before the Telangana elections but it was postponed keeping in mind the political mood of the state. After this, Sharmila announced her support to Congress in the Telangana elections and on the occasion of joining the party, she also said that she was happy with her contribution to the victory of Telangana. On this occasion, Sharmila advocated for making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister and said that it was her father's dream to see Rahul as the Prime Minister and she would be happy to contribute to it.
The political graph of the Congress in the state has dropped from its height to zero with the separation of Andhra Pradesh, which resulted in Jaganmohan Reddy creating his party. In the last two Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the party was not even able to register an account. Congress needs charisma to resurrect the party in this large state with 25 seats, and Sharmila presents that opportunity to the party.
In light of this, the Congress would be very influential in Sharmila, Andhra Pradesh, during the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in 2024. Political circles are also discussing the possibility that Sharmila will eventually be elected, even if the party does not have much success in the next Andhra elections. This is because there is a plan in place to sustain Sharmila's significance in terms of long-term politics. Karnataka has the potential to produce a member of the Rajya Sabha.
