On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his government has brought countless benefits to the lives of common people with the help of the power of technology in the last 11 years. He said that today India is moving rapidly in the field of technology and innovation with the energy of youth.

Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Technology has taken service delivery and transparency to new heights. It has also become a means of empowerment in the lives of the poorest section of the country."

In a thread released by the government, it was said that so far an amount of more than Rs 44 lakh crore has been transferred to the beneficiaries of 322 schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). These schemes are being run by 56 ministries. With the help of technology, savings of Rs 3.48 lakh crore have been made by stopping leakage.

In the last 11 years, India has traveled from 'digital desert' to 'data-driven democracy'. Through Digital India, the country has not only become a technology hub but has also earned global trust. Platforms like space tech, digital payment, rural connectivity, and UPI are examples of this.

During the tenure of the Modi government, India has become the country providing the cheapest mobile data in the world. Today, India has 94 crore broadband connections and 120 crore telephone subscribers. While tele-density was 75% in 2014, it has increased to 85% in 2025. ISRO proved India's capabilities by launching 393 foreign satellites.

The government used technology not only to create platforms but also to make governance seamless, transparent, and inclusive. DBT has seen a 90-fold increase in 10 years. Also, efforts like the CoWin platform, passport service, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, and digital marketplace for government procurement have added a new chapter to service delivery.
