Big announcement by Delhi Capitals before IPL 2024, Rishabh Pant will be the captain of the team, not David Warner

The Indian Premier League 2024 is set to begin in just two days. The captain of the Delhi Capitals has already been named. David Warner will not captain the Delhi Capitals in the 2024 Indian Premier League; instead, Rishabh Pant will do so. It has been nearly 14 months since Rishabh Pant left the professional cricket scene. He stopped playing cricket competitively in December 2022. In the final week of December 2022, he barely avoided a horrifying car crash on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Following that, and after a protracted course of treatment, he was fit again. He just received approval from NCA to participate in the IPL.

Delhi Capitals Chairman and co-owner Parth Jindal said in a statement that we are happy to welcome Rishabh as the captain of Delhi Capitals. He has shown patience and fearlessness. The new season is awaited with new zeal and enthusiasm. I can't wait to see him take Delhi Capitals to the field once again.

At the same time, the board said in the medical update that Rishabh Pant has been declared fit as a wicketkeeper-batsman for IPL 2024 after undergoing a 14-month rehabilitation process following a road accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand on December 30, 2022. In IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals will play its first match against Punjab Kings in Chandigarh on 23 March.
