Thinnest iPhone will be launched without a charging port, Apple is making big preparations

New information is coming out on Apple's iPhone 17 Air. The phone is rumored to shed many features since it will be extremely slim. Some of the features that it will include are the physical SIM tray and dual camera, and now, according to a recent report by Bloomberg's Mark Zuckerberg, this list could also include "absence of charging port" i.e. the phone will not get a charging port. iPhone 17 Air is considered to be a big step towards the company's first "completely port-free iPhone".

Mark Gurman reports that the iPhone 17 Air marks the start of Apple's port-free future. If this model is successful, Apple may plan to work on completely port-free iPhones in the future and convert more of its models to this thin design."

Earlier, famous Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had mentioned in 2021 that Apple would soon release an iPhone with no charging port but that hasn't been achieved so far. Apple adopted the USB-C port and abandoned its own Lightning port but an iPhone that is completely free of a charging port is still a dream to achieve.

Amid the talk of removing the charging port, MagSafe charging has been confirmed in the iPhone 17 Air. It was earlier believed that Apple could remove the MagSafe charging feature in the iPhone 17 Air like its iPhone 16e model, but the dummy images leaked by reliable tipster Sonny Dickson prove this claim wrong. "Although the ultra-slim design of the iPhone 17 Air is going to be MagSafe, the iPhone 17 Air will also come with a MagSafe port. This may raise doubts, but if these dummy models turn out to be true, then the phone will definitely have this feature."
