IIM CAT: Negative marking in multiple choice only

The registration process for the CAT exam to be conducted for admission to other management colleges including the Indian Institute of Management is still underway. Which will run till September 14. Meanwhile, the frequently asked questions related to the exam have also been released. It has been clarified in this that the provision of negative marking has been kept only in the questions of multiple choice. There will be no negative marking in Non-MCQ.
There will be a ban on bringing the calculator to the examination center, but students will be able to calculate with the calculator present on the computer screen. Students can understand the questions and test patterns through mock tests. Three marks for the correct answer, minus one for a wrong answer and no mark will be deducted for not answering the question.
Students can choose their exam slot and exam city at the time of registration. On average, two lakh students appear for the exam. Till now, only students from engineering backgrounds have dominated this exam. The FAQs are issued in four parts. Along with IIM Udaipur in the state, a non-IIM institute in Jaipur gives admission on the basis of a CAT score.
Along with Jaipur in the state, the examination will also be conducted in Ajmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar and Udaipur. However, the information about the centers set up in these cities is not on the website. The students will be able to know the exam centers only during the form filling.
CAT admit card will be issued on October 27. Whereas the exam will be conducted on November 27. The exam result will be released in January. After this, students will be admitted to different IIMs on the basis of GD and PI. Only after this, the new academic session will be start.
IIMs remain the first choice of students for management courses, but now management courses of IIT Delhi are also being preferred. This is the reason why IIT Delhi has made it to the first five institutes in the management category in the NIRF rankings. Wherein IIMs Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Kolkata have priority admission.
