Elon Musk became the first person in the world to lose $ 200 billion in net worth

Tesla and Twitter owner Elon Musk has become the first person in the world to lose $200 billion from his net worth. This information has been given recently by the Bloomberg Billionaire Index. Musk's personal net worth exceeded $ 200 billion in January 2021, when he overtook Amazon owner Jeff Bezos.
Following the recent fall in Tesla shares, 51-year-old Musk's total net worth has dropped to $137 billion. Tesla shares were down 11% on December 27. Tesla is now offering US customers $7,500 off until the end of the year on two of its most popular models. The production of its Shanghai plant has also apparently reduced. This is harming them.
In November 2021, Musk's net worth reached a peak of $ 340 billion. Since then Elon Musk had remained the richest man in the world for more than a year. However, last month French business tycoon and LVMH founder Bernard Arnault overtook Elon Musk to become the world's richest man.
In October 2021, the world's second richest man Elon Musk bought Twitter for $ 44 billion. Musk then sold shares of the electronic car company Tesla to repay its cost. Since then this company has not been his largest asset.
Musk has continuously sold Tesla shares in the last few days. In the month of December, Musk sold about 22 million (2.2 crores) shares of Tesla in just 3 days, which is worth about $ 3.6 billion, i.e. Rs 29.81 thousand crores. Tesla shares have fallen more than 65% this year. They were close to $400 at the beginning of the year and have reached close to $125 now.
Even after the shares were sold, Musk remains Tesla's largest shareholder. He holds the highest 13.4% stake in the company. Last year, the company's market value was $ 1 trillion, which has come down to $ 495 billion.
According to a Reuters report, Musk has sold Tesla shares worth $40 billion (about Rs 3.3 lakh crore) so far in a year. In one year, Musk has sold 94,202,321 shares of Tesla at an average of $ 243.46 per share. There is also a continuous decline in Musk's net worth.
