The central government has provided great relief to its 65 lakh pensioners. The Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) of the Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance was receiving such complaints from pensioners that their pension amount is being received late. It has also been seen that some pensioners are not getting pension at the end of the same month. Some days of the next month also pass in the process of pension amount coming into the account. Due to all this, the Finance Ministry has taken the delay in payment of pension seriously.
Now all pensioners will get pension at the end of the month. The Central Pension Processing Center (CPPC) will have to send a report electronically by the forenoon of the last working day of the month. It has to be told on the e-PPO site that the fixed amount has been sent to the accounts of so many pensioners at the end of the month.
Let us tell you that the Finance Ministry was receiving many complaints regarding the delay in getting monthly pension and family pension. Since most of the people live on pension after retirement, the delay in pension is becoming a cause of trouble for them. They have to make rounds of the concerned department or bank in their old age due to delay in pension.
The Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO) of the Expenditure Department of the Finance Ministry has taken such complaints seriously. CPPCs of all banks are open. CPPC takes pension from the department and releases it in the account of the concerned pensioner. Pension / family pension should reach the pensioner's account by the last working day of that month. Except for the month of March, in which the pension should be deposited on the first working day of the next month i.e. April.
In the remaining months, the pension amount should be deposited on the last day or before that. Meaning, the money should reach the pensioner's account before the end of the month. The office memorandum issued by the Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance on September 20 said that from time to time complaints have been received from pensioners as well as family pensioners regarding delay in crediting monthly, pension / family pension in their accounts. Delay in credit of monthly pension / family pension causes avoidable financial hardship and anxiety to old age pensioners / family pensioners.
Now the CPPC is directed to ensure that the monthly pension / family pension is credited to the pensioner / family pensioner's account every month as per the prescribed timeline. Any delay in crediting pension / family pension beyond the prescribed timeline will be taken very seriously. Appropriate action should be taken in this matter. In order to monitor the timely disbursement of pension/family pension, all CPPCs have been directed to electronically submit a report regarding credit of monthly pension/family pension by forenoon of the last working day of the month. This report can be submitted by logging on to the e-PPO site i.e. https://eppo.nic.in.
