Rajasthan Floods Worsen: Orange Alert in 3 Districts, Dozens of Villages Submerged
Rajasthan flood news today: Heavy rain continues in Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in 3 districts of the state on Tuesday as well. Many districts of the state are flooded. The administration has had to deploy the army for rescue operations.
Floods have caused scenes of extreme destruction in several districts of Rajasthan. In view of the alert of heavy rain, a holiday has been announced for schools in 8 districts of the state today. Along with this, university examinations in Kota have been rescheduled. An orange alert has been issued today in 3 districts and a yellow alert in 8 districts of the state. To date, over 90 individuals have lost their lives in the state as a result of rain-related incidents. On Monday, too, a house collapsed in Udaipur because of heavy rain, where one individual lost his life due to being trapped under it. Because of heavy rain in Sawai Madhopur, Banas, Chambal, Galwa, Moral, Gambhira, and Nigoh rivers are also still in spate. Dozens of villages located in the lower areas are in the grip of floods due to the overflowing of dams. More than a dozen villages are flooded here. Due to this, people have been shifted from here. Heavy rains were recorded in many districts of the state during the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall of 54 mm was recorded in Neemkathana of Sikar district. Heavy waterlogging is also being seen in Sikar due to the rain. Ringas and Palsana received 31-31 mm of rain, while Srimadhopur received 32 mm of rain. 25 mm of rainfall was recorded in Suratgarh of Sri Ganganagar district.
Mount Abu in Sirohi district recorded 45 mm of rain, Pali 24 mm, Bissau in Jhunjhunu 45 mm, and Rawatsar in Hanumangarh 28 mm of rain. Dewal in Dungarpur district recorded 50 mm, Dungarpur city 42 mm, and Chikli 27 mm of rain. Similarly, Mahuva in Dausa district recorded 25 mm, Rajgarh in Churu 45 mm, Dungla in Chittorgarh 48 mm, Beawar in Ajmer district 30 mm, and Kalyanpur in Balotra in Jalore district recorded 25 mm of rain. Due to the rain, the temperature has also dropped in many parts of the state, giving relief to the people from the heat. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in some more areas of the state for the next three days.
