IIT Madras has introduced a new sport called Omegaball in India, a fast and modern form of football. This game promotes skill and strategic thinking among players, with three teams playing simultaneously on three goals.

In addition to cricket, football, badminton, and tennis, there is another sport known as Omegaball that has already begun in India. IIT Madras introduced this game in order to enhance its characteristics and skills among the youth. Omegaball is an advanced and modern version of football where three teams play simultaneously in one area of goals. At present, Omegaball is gaining popularity in America, Brazil, and Europe.
According to IIT Madras, this game forces players to think beyond traditional strategies and deepen their understanding of time and teamwork. The game challenges both individual skills and team coordination, making players more alert and strategically sharp. IIT Madras has introduced this sport to the country for the first time to develop skills among youth.
Last week, there was a tournament of this sport in the college premises of IIT. During this tournament, it was proposed to develop a national IIT Madras Omegaball club. Approximately 100 participants from IIT Madras have participated in Omegaball demo matches.
