Bhubaneswar recently played host to the grand finale of the KIIT Bhubaneswar presents 61st Femina Miss India co-powered by Rajnigandha Pearls. Beyond the crowning moment, the event marked a significant cultural milestone: the unveiling of “Vishwa Sutra – Weaves of India for the World.” This landmark showcase brought India’s rich handloom heritage to one of the country’s most influential cultural and fashion platforms.
The initiative was spearheaded by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles. Collaborating with acclaimed designer Vaishali S, the project aimed to highlight the intricate artistry of Indian weaves. A central feature of the showcase involved all 30 State Winners, each representing a distinct handloom tradition from their respective regions across the nation.
Every ensemble on display told a compelling story. These designs reinterpreted India’s traditional weaves through contemporary silhouettes, drawing inspiration from global cultures. The collection successfully forged a powerful dialogue between deep-rooted heritage and modern design sensibilities.
